BIG LAND LOPPETT
The Big Land Loppet has become an annual event for the last several years. The date is April 1st with a 10 A.M start time. There will be four distance options this year. Snow shoers are also invited to participate in the event. Please pick up your bibs at the tourism chalet between 6 and 8 p.m on Friday. The bus to the 22 km and 11 km start lines leave the Goose Bay curling club at 9:00 a.m.
4.4 km is a very flat trail, refreshment tent at the 2.2 km mark, doable for even novice skiers.
11 km beginning on the Goose River Road (dump) and circling back to the CAF arena.
22 km participants will be bused to the intersection of the TLH and the Goose River rd.
44 km begins at the CAF arena , ski out to the start of the 22 km and return to the CAF arena.
Here are some photos from last years loppett. The presentation of medals (for younger folks) and refreshments will take place at the Goose Bay Curling Club across from Lab Rec center. The projected forecast for Loppet day is 3 degrees Celsius and a rain snow mix!! The banquet will be taking place at Tenders Lounge ,starting at around 6:00.(near the gate to the base) Adults will receive their certificates and awards at the banquet.
